City Life Org – Award-winning Botswana music artist Lorraine Lionheart sings a stunning rendition of ‘A Life Lived With Grace’, the Commonwealth’s official song, for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

Award-winning singer-songwriter Lorraine Lionheart from Botswana will be the star performer at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebration on June 2.

Influenced by her Botswana heritage, Lionheart performs her superb version of “A Life Lived With Grace”, the Commonwealth song. The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrates 70 years of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.

This is the singer’s second engagement for the royal family, as she did for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan in 2018.

One of the UK’s leading African musical artists, Lorraine Lionheart has always honored her Botswanan heritage. She recently traveled to Botswana, Zambia and South Africa to shoot a music video for “A Life Lived With Grace”, featuring choirs and traditional dance groups in the beautiful landscape of the three Commonwealth countries.

Lorraine Lionheart was born and raised in the Kalahari Desert in Botswana and is currently based in England UK. She was named Music Artist and Entertainer of the Year 2015 at the Awe Awards in Geneva. She has headlined festivals and performed in many countries including Norway, Sweden, Hong Kong, South Africa, Switzerland, Nigeria, Botswana, Zambia, Ghana and the UK. Lionheart has appeared at other high profile events such as the 2nd Annual African Capital Markets Conference and the EMEA Finance African Banking Awards in London.

In addition to her accomplishments as a singer, songwriter and producer, Lorraine is a speaker, music specialist and entrepreneur. She holds a Bachelor of Science Honors in Music Technology and Management, Master of Arts in Music Production.

A PhD student at SOAS University of London carrying out ethnomusicological research into the indigenous sounds of Africa, the singer says she is committed to using her platform to encourage African youth to study African cultures and help the less privileged to access it.

“I believe it was very important to me to know who I am, to love who I am, and to understand that there is a greater purpose in my musical gifts as I share them with the world,” says -she.
