A DAY of music was organized in Chepstow to show solidarity with the Ukrainian people following the Russian invasion.
Dubbed the Concert for Ukraine, bands and artists will perform throughout Saturday, May 7 – on the Bandstand and in the City Drill Hall.
Organizers said: “I’m sure everyone is moved by what’s happening in Ukraine, and we all think we’d like to help in any way we can.”
From 2-6:30 p.m., performances will take place at the Chepstow Riverside Bandstand.
Collection boxes will be available for donations.
After 6:30 p.m., you’ll have half an hour to walk the short distance to the exercise room for even more music.
From 7pm there will be a host of additional groups on offer – with £5 entry.
Drill Hall tickets are available from: Hannah’s Music and Queens Head micropub on Moor Street and the Mencap store in Bulwark.
No donations will be collected by Newsquest. Financial transactions are with JustGiving to donate to the British Red Cross DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
In the unlikely event that the British Red Cross raises more money than it can reasonably and efficiently spend, any excess funds will be used to help it prepare for and respond to other humanitarian disasters anywhere in the world.
