Def Jam Recordings Outclasses Women With Star-Studded Compilation Album [DETAILS]

Def Jam Recordings pays homage to women in its latest creation, “The Women of Def Jam”, a compilation album by various female artists from the history of the world’s first hip-hop record label.

The 24-track album recently arrived on all streaming platforms via Def Jam Recordings. It will also be released as a Collector’s Edition Triple-LP box set.

Discover the music reports that Def Jam Recordings is home to one of the most inclusive and diverse group of female executives in the music business.

Women make up more than half of Def Jam’s workforce, with seven women of color holding leadership positions.

They also occupy two of the three most important management positions, while eight in ten are female department heads.

Proud of how women have championed the organizational structure, Def Jam executive vice presidents Nicki Farag and LaTrice Burnette emphasized that the label has always been about “setting the tone” and leading the culture.

Released in a collector’s edition triple vinyl box set, the first vinyl record features hits from Foxy Brown, Nikki D, Boss, Ashanti, Shawnna and Teairra Marí.

The second disc features Shareefa, Amerie, Chrisette Michele, Saint Bodhi and Teyana Taylor.

The latest disc, meanwhile, will play songs by Alessia Cara, Bibi Bourelly, Kaash Paige, DaniLeigh, 070 Shake, Jhené Aiko and HER.
