IZ.MB demonstrates a solid understanding of what happens in the art of music. “Recover,” a vulnerable and thoughtful personal story, is a preview of Nowhere Town’s LP.
Learning everything that goes into creating exceptional musical art takes a lot of time, practice and experience. However, at 20 years old, IZ.MB already demonstrates a solid understanding of what it is all about. IZ.MB started very early, doing choir at the age of 5. Over time, she also took up playing guitar, bass, mandolin and piano. At 15, she started writing songs, but despite all that musical passion and ability, she went to high school with the intention of becoming a doctor. With her abundance of creative potential, she quickly discovered that the world of medicine was not for her. Fortunately, her mentors, Ian Macaulay, Arnez Hayes, and Kim Crutchfield, encouraged her to continue pursuing the arts, which led to IZ.MB’s entry into the music industry. Her debut single leading to her debut album, Blue Collar Romeo, flexed its well-organized lyrics and melody. Now his latest single, “Recover,” which is part of his upcoming full-length album, Nowhere Town, does the same but shows his obvious growth as a rising artist.
IZ.MB described their new album as a diary delivered through a collection of songs, and “Recover” is just part of the vulnerable and thoughtful stories IZ.MB has to share as part of this project. vast. Initially, the song may seem like nothing more than a breakup song about how hard it is to put all your broken pieces back together after a relationship that didn’t work out. This interpretation would not be wrong in any way, but “Recover” contains layers that can dig even deeper than that. Considering that this single and the album in its entirety were written in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic – a cluster mess of epic proportions that has caused many major life moments and milestones to be missed due to months of Isolation – “Recover” encompasses the ongoing recovery that comes with life passing from the unprecedented circumstances that have ensued over the past two years. Regardless of the perspective from which listeners hear the song, it is filled with powerful and expressive emotions that can connect to anyone who has had to overcome pain and hardship in any form.
So far, IZ.MB has kept their appearance hidden behind the scenes in an effort to keep their music as their main focus. Yet she and her music are not as separate as they seem. She pours everything she has and who she is behind the tracks into every candid release, which is why she decided to do a lyric video for “Recover.” She said, “I wanted people to really really read the lyrics and I wanted them to see what I was saying.” This mission is well accomplished because his words capture such deep and real feelings through their beautiful poetic imagery that brings IZ.MB and his song’s message to the fore.
