Percy Grainger at the National Music Camp in Interlochen

Composer Percy Grainger spent several summers at the National Music Camp in Interlochen in the 1930s and 1940s.
He composed several pieces while at Interlochen, and he also brought brand new music with him for the students to perform.
At least one of his pieces, “The Power of Rome and the Christian Heart,” even received its world premiere at National Music Camp.
Hear a variety of Grainger’s music that was performed during his time on the faculty at National Music Camp, including rare 1930s archival recordings of performances he gave.
