The Revivalists took over on Friday for a concert at MGM Music Hall in Fenway In Boston.
The show at Fenway Park– the adjacent theater presented the second performance of “Kid”, one of the band’s four new songs debuted Monday at legendary Nashville Ryman-Auditorium. This show, the band’s second of two at The Mother Church of Country Music, also saw an appearance by Roosevelt Necklace.
Rather than dropping more songs or welcoming special guests to Boston, The Revivalists turned to their tried-and-true catalog to fill out the bulk of the set with longtime favorites “Keep Going,” “You and I” and “Monster” appearing early. The David Shaw-led New Orleans octet also paid tribute to Bee Gees with a performance of “To Love Somebody”, shortly before their hit “Wish I Knew You” ended the main set.
Boston audiences were treated to a four-song encore, featuring oldies “Hurricane Winslow” and “Catching Fireflies” before going more modern with “Celebration” and finally concluding with “Soulfight.”
