The Creative Music Production and Business Foundation Diploma – more info
Changing lives through music
For over 35 years, Community Music, the UK’s oldest community music organization, has been at the forefront of music education, helping young producers and musicians acquire and improve the skills needed to establish a career in the music and creative industries where they would otherwise not have the resources and guidance to do so.
Supported by the Arts Council, Community Music helps budding young musicians working in all musical genres, through presentation, networking, mentorship and training opportunities. The organization offers free rehearsal space, studio access, events and attracts key industry figures to advise young people.
The Creative Music Production and Business Foundation Diploma is a full-time, two-year course that first explores the different areas of music production and the music industry, then focuses on business development, personal development and career planning.
Fees are around £3,000 cheaper than other universities offering the same course and over 80% of students go on to pursue careers in the music industry or further study. Community Music aims to keep fees low to encourage people from all walks of life to apply. Previous qualifications are not essential and Community Music is looking for motivation, attitude and ambitious people for the future. Community Music has a fantastic array of graduates in a highly competitive industry.
A graduate in community music, Tom Barnes is a third party at TMS.
TMS are an English Grammy-nominated songwriting and record production team. They wrote 1 number 1 single in the US and 6 number 1 singles in the UK, including Lewis Capaldi “Someone You Loved”
Tom said: “I studied production at Community Music and know the quality of their training first hand. The course is a great way to pass on knowledge to young growers”
